BACH CONCERT SERIES
Bach Cantata 70
35-voice choir and soloists perform Bach Cantata 70, “Wachet! betet! betet! wachet!” (Watch, pray, pray, watch), with the orchestra, T. Herbert Dimmock directing. Featured soloists are: Colleen Daly (soprano), Bailey Whiteman (alto), Joseph Regan (tenor) and John Eisenhardt (bass). The concert begins with the director’s demonstration of Bach’s musical language in the cantata. In addition, concert organist Jonathan Parker will play an organ prelude based on the cantata’s chorale, followed by Bach’s most famous organ composition, Toccata & Fugue in D minor.

BALTIMORE COMPOSERS FORUM
Sound in Motion III
An interaction among local composers, dancers and choreographers, Sound in Motion III is a presentation of original and collaborative works. The highly innovative projects range from solo and ensemble pieces to works incorporating the spoken word. This years event will feature music by composers Garth Baxter, John Belkot, Ljiljana Jovanovic, Ray Jozwiak, Vivian Adelberg Rudow and Ariyo Shahry and choreography by Algernon Campbell, Reginald Cole, Amanda T. Fair, Madi Jackson, Lynne Price and Lauren Withhart.

BALTIMORE JAZZ ALLIANCE
“What is Jazz?”
A fun introduction to jazz for elementary school children featuring jazz versions of well-known children’s songs played by BJA’s five piece band and encouraging audience participation. A musical “petting zoo” follows the concert. Everyone attending will be able to try all the musicians' instruments.

BALTIMORE LIEDER WEEKEND
Lieder is the German word for song and refers to the “art song” developed in classical music from the late 18th century. The focus this weekend is on the music of Austrian composer Hugo Wolf, who was born 150 years ago. Featured are the baritone Ryan de Ryke, scholar Susan Youens, and the legendary John Shirley-Quirk. The weekend brings together luminaries and rising talents from the classical music world to celebrate the art song.
